SKIN CONDITIONS

Are you suffering from a particular skin concern, and looking for a treatment or recommendation to help you gain your confidence and feel incredible in your skin? Browse through our list of common skin concerns below for a professional recommendation and tailored regime.

ACNE

ACNE

Acne is a common skin concern that occurs when hair follicles become clogged with oil and dead skin cells, leading to breakouts on the face, back, chest, and shoulders. Several factors contribute to acne formation, including:

  1. Sebum Quality – The consistency of sebum plays a crucial role in skin health. When sebum is thick and sticky, similar to custard in texture, it can easily clog the hair follicle. Once blocked, this creates an ideal anaerobic environment for C. acnes bacteria to thrive, leading to inflammation and breakouts.

  2. Excess Corneocytes – Hair follicles can also become blocked due to an accumulation of excess corneocytes (dead skin cells), comedogenic products, makeup, dirt, and grime. This buildup prevents sebum from reaching the skin’s surface, increasing the risk of blockages and bacterial infections.

  3. Incorrect pH Balance – Healthy skin maintains a pH level between 4.5 and 6.5, creating an acidic environment where bacteria, including C. acnes, remain balanced. When the skin’s pH is disrupted, bacterial overgrowth can occur, contributing to acne development.

Understanding these factors and maintaining a proper skincare routine can help manage and prevent acne effectively.

PIGMENTATION

Pigmentation refers to an uneven distribution of melanin in your skin, resulting in dark or light patches, spots or areas.  This condition can be caused by a range of factors, including sun exposure, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, acne, genetics, hormonal changes, trauma to the skin or injury.

With the correct treatments, pigmentation can be eliminated or reduced thoroughly.

AGEING

Skin ageing is a natural process influenced by genetics (intrinsic ageing) and environmental factors like UV exposure, pollution, and lifestyle choices (extrinsic ageing). Over time, collagen and elastin production decline, leading to fine lines, wrinkles, and loss of firmness, while slower cell turnover causes dullness and uneven texture. Good quality skincare plays a vital role in slowing these effects by providing hydration, antioxidants, and active ingredients that support skin regeneration and barrier function. In-salon treatments, such as facials, chemical peels, laser rejuvenation and microneedling, enhance skincare results by deeply exfoliating, stimulating collagen production, and improving product absorption. A combination of professional treatments and high-quality home care helps maintain youthful, healthy skin for longer.

Ageing

There are a range of skin treatments available to slow down the ageing process and achieve a healthier younger looking you. Our Dermal Therapists will take the time to organise your best options.
